A Rare Sheraton Mahogany Foot Stool With Patchwork Covering, Stamped By Abel Jones Winchendon, Massachusetts, circa 1830.
This very rare antique Sheraton mahogany foot stool has great folk art appeal and is in superb original condition. The cushioned foot rest is covered with a terrific patchwork remnant that dates to the 19th Century. The stool is neatly impressed on the bottom at center by the maker, “Abel Jones”. Abel Jones was a cabinetmaker listed in the Worcester County Deeds, working until his death in 1836 in Winchendon, Mass.
