Federal giltwood mirror decorated with a Classical scene of mother and child, circa 1825.

The overhanging cornice having ball decorations above rope moldings with block corners. The upper panel is reverse painted Classical image of a woman seated on a chaise engaging a child holding a book, all framed by red and gilded draperies. The mirror glass appears to be original.
