A fine carved cherry Chippendale style three drawer chest expertly crafted in the manner of the Colchester cabinetmakers of Connecticut, 20th Century.

This attractive chest is reproduction a desirable "Colchester" chests produced in Connecticut during the last quareter of the 18th Century.  The carved cherry chest is the highest of the form with blocked fronts topped with three well developed shells and four cabriole legs on ball and claw feet.  The knee returns are nicely shaped and feature detail molding. The chest was likely prouced in the early 20th Century by a master and accurately potrays an original example in proportion, construction and materials.
